Chapter 28: The Mice Will Play

Meanwhile in Appaloosa Plains, at the Darling household…

It was a rainy, summer evening in Appaloosa Plains, dimly lit by the light of the full moon.

Little Sy was sick in bed, and Persephone was going for a jog.

Gwendolyn had her new friend over, Benni Hennessey. After a boring conversation on the couch, they decided to throw a party.

It started with a few girl friends and some pizza, but that wasn’t quite exhilarating enough for Gwendy.

  

So the blacklight was busted out and the music was cranked up!

Persy was pretty peeved to come home to a party.

She wasn’t in the mood to deal with Gwendy’s shenanigans, so she took Moody with her, said goodnight to Bo, and went to sleep.

“UGH! Get out, I’m trying to sleep here!” Persy yelled to a guest who wandered into her room.

By morning everyone was passed out on the floor.

When everyone was finally out of the house, the kids paid a visit to the Summer Festival.

Gwendy hung out with her friend Mythri.

 

While little Sy went roller skating.

Bo showed off his soccer skills.

Later, Bo and Persy snuck off to the beach to ‘cool off’.

Bo’s attempt at being seductive was sure working on Persy, as he pulled in closer by her hands.

She hesitated by pulling away.

“Just stop fighting it Pers! I know you want me!” Bo joked.

Persephone began laughing hysterically and walked away from him, he followed her, grabbing her hand.

“But really Persephone, how long are you going to k-”

She interrupted him with a shy kiss.

That eventually turned into a much more passionate one. Bo always had a way of bringing Persy out of her shell.

“The stars don’t shine half as bright as your eyes!” Bo said.

“Oh my god Bobo, that’s ridiculously cheesy!” said Persy, giggling uncontrollably.

“Well, sorry! It’s true!” He said pulling her closer.

While Gwendolyn was watching TV on the couch upstairs, Persephone and Bo were hanging out in the girls room.

This time it was Persephone making all the moves. “Let’s dance?” she asked, pulling him closer.

 

Bo swirled and glided around the dirty clothes with Persy like a pro.

Gwendolyn walked into the room half asleep, Bo and Persephone pulled away from each other trying to act as though nothing happened.

When the lights were out, Bo grabbed Persy in his arms and gave her a long, passionate goodnight kiss.
